Four ways to get close to Chilapata, ranked by convenience — and why Hasimara (10 km away) changes how you plan the whole trip.
Nearest railway station: Hasimara (HSA)
Hasimara is the answer to ‘where do I get off?’ — about 10 km from our gate, a 20-minute drive. It sits on the New Jalpaiguri–Alipurduar Junction line, served by trains like the Kanchan Kanya and Uttarbanga Express that run the scenic route through tea country. Verify current timetables on IRCTC, since schedules shift.
The practical trick most first-timers miss: if your city has a connection through Kolkata or Delhi, look for an overnight train that reaches Hasimara or Alipurduar early morning. You lose no daylight to travel.
Alipurduar Junction (APDJ)
The bigger junction, about 22 km away. More trains stop here, including long-distance options from Delhi and the Northeast. If your preferred train ends at Alipurduar, take it — our pickup covers this station too.

New Jalpaiguri (NJP)
NJP is the region’s main station — the one with the most connections and where most Dooars itineraries begin. From NJP it is roughly 145 km, 4 to 5 hours by road through Gairkata or Madarihat. Worth it if you want a specific train; otherwise choose Alipurduar/Hasimara.
Nearest airport: Bagdogra (IXB)
Bagdogra near Siliguri is the airport for the whole region — direct flights from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru. From there, Chilapata is about 150 km, 4–4.5 hours by car. We arrange one-way pickups (₹4,500–5,500 by car type) or you can take a train onward from NJP.
